It was almost four weeks ago that we left the chilly minus forty weather for “Balmy BC” where the temperatures were in the single digit minus degrees! Before we left Sask., we saw that it was snowing in BC but knowing that the snow usually only lasts a day or two in BC we opted to only bring mitts, toques, scarves and boots and leave the bulky snow pants at home…little did we know that we would have snow the entire three weeks we were there which is so unusual for BC! The snow was beautiful and made us feel very “at home”. The girls got to build snow forts, snowmen and snow kangaroos (inspired by Uncle Dave) which was so fun for them, since in Sask., it isn’t too often that the snow sticks enough for forts and snowmen and it was a novelty to play in the snow in temperatures that hovered around zero!
We were very blessed to be able to spend time with all the members in both our immediate families (Karin and Dave even flew in from a warm “+43 degrees Celsius” Australia to spend Christmas with us)…it made us realize once again that we have been given such a great gift by God to have such wonderful families! For all of you, we are so grateful!
The girls made lots of great memories playing with their cousins, second cousins and even third cousins…as well as lots of “old” friends!

We had many highlights, but one of my favorites was a sharing time we had with my family as we recounted God's goodness in 2008, and shared prayer requests for the new year! We look forward to seeing where God leads and what He teaches us in this new year!

We loved having you guys here for Christmas! It won't have been the same without you. And we all had fun too! Plus, it gave me an excuse to go play out in the snow and be a kid again! :)
